Loaded field ready for Stocker Cup

Defending champion Kevin Marsh takes on a field including some of the nation's top mid-amateurs
The field, including defending and three-time champion Kevin Marsh, includes many of the top mid-amateurs in the game today and features multiple state champions, with literally hundreds of collective appearances in USGA events. The field consists of 50 players who hail from 17 different U.S. states and Japan.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kevin Marsh - Henderson, Nevada
The defending champion, Marsh returns after quite a season in 2013. Marsh reached the semifinals of the recent U.S. Mid-Amateur where he lost to eventual champion Michael McCoy. This season, Marsh also won the California Amateur, took second place at the Birmingham National Invitational and logged Top 20s at The Players Amateur, Coleman Invitational, Carlton Woods Invitational.
An experienced and successful player at the Stocker Cup, Ledzinski tied for second in 2011 and most recently took eighth at the Harvey Penick Invitational. This year, Ledzinski also qualified for the 2012 U.S. Mid-Amateur.
Another player with terrific success at the Stocker Cup, Wilder placed second in 2010 and tied for seventh in 2011. In 2012, Wilder won the Kelly Cup and finished fourth at the Azalea Amateur in South Carolina. Earlier this year, Wilder was second at the Kelly Cup, and finished Top 25 at the Terra Cotta Invitational.
One of the hottest players in the field, Moore has had a terrific 2013. He enters the Stocker Cup with wins at the Northern California Valley Amateur, Northern California Public Links and the 2013 Monterey Bay Championship. He reached the quarterfinals of the California Amateur, placed 28th at the Pacific Coast Amateur and was medalist during U.S. Public Links qualifying. Expect Moore to be in the mix at The Preserve.
A member of the 2012 USGA Texas State Team, Kincaid has played well in national, state and regional events over the last two years. He tied for fourth at this year’s Harvey Penick Invitational, took medalist honors during U.S. Mid-Amateur qualifying, reached the Round of 16 at the Texas Mid-Am Match Play and took Top 6s the Texas North Amateur and Texas North Mid-Amateur.
Fresh off a win at the 2013 Senior Azalea Invitational, Exber hopes to add his name to the long list of impressive Stocker Cup champions. Also in 2013, Exber reached the Round of 16 at the U.S. Senior Amateur, tied for 17th at the Pacific Coast Amateur, placed seventh at the Harvey Penick Senior and tied for third at the Crane Cup.
A member of the California Golf Hall of Fame, Boyns has continued winning in 2013. Boyns took the top spot at the Monterey County Four Ball and tied for second at the Northern California Master Division and Monterey City Amateur. Boyns is the only four- time Northern California Golf Association Player of the Year and has twice won the California State Amateur Championship.
A long time player on the major amateur event circuit, Nelson enters the 2013 Stocker Cup with a number of fine recent efforts on his resume. In 2013, Nelson reached the Final 32 at the U.S. Senior Amateur and logged a Top 15 at the Coleman Invitational. Last year, he took 20th at the Stocker Cup in addition to Top 15s at the British Senior Amateur and the Coleman.
Also represented in the Stocker Cup field are two qualifiers for the US Amateur who competed at the Country Club in Brookline, Mass – John Sawin of San Francisco and Jason Anthony of Fairfield, Calif.

ABOUT THE STOCKER CUP:
The Stocker Cup, played in memory of Peter Stocker, is held each October at The Preserve Golf Club in Carmel. The field is comprised of 50 world-class mid-amateur and senior invitees, who meet stringent eligibility requirements. Most have competed in USGA or other national-level amateur competitions.
These 50 golfers are slotted into the Peter Stocker Flight and compete for the overall championship. An additional 32 competitors, most with single digit handicaps, will play in the Ruth Stocker Barry Flight. Invitations for this flight are extended to friends, relatives and associates of the late Peter Stocker, as well as to various sponsors and supporters of the event. Individual titles are awarded to low gross in the Peter Stocker Flight and top Stableford gross and net scores in the Ruth Stocker Barry Flight.
The Stocker Cup is recognized by the three major world rankings – The World Amateur Golf Rankings, Golfweek/amateurgolf.com World Rankings, and Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking.
