Michael Schmidt was a 3-and-2 winner over David Tepe in the championship match of the 2013 Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Championship at Hyde Park
CINCINNATI, Calif. (June 28, 2013) -- Michael Schmidt was a 3-and-2 winner over David Tepe in the championship match of the 2013 Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Championship at Hyde Park.
Schmidt took an early 2-up lead after the front nine and held on throughout the back to claim the title.
David Tepe, the No. 29 seed, played his way to the championship match by knocking off top seed Bill Williamson in semifinal action Friday. Tepe won 4-and-3.
Schmidt, seeded No. 30. Schmidt bested No. 7 seed Brennen Walsh 1-up in their semifinal match.

About the Tony Blom Metropolitan Amateur
Open to male amateur golfers who are members of the GCGA. Format consists of two rounds of a stroke play followed by a cut to the low 64 players for match play.
