The father-son team of Rob and Robby Ormand dominate the field, shooting 60-62 for a 20-under total

AUSTIN, TX (April 30, 2006)--The father-son team of Rob and Robby Ormand dominated play at the Lions Spring Partnership, shooting the low round each day and blowing away the field by 8 shots at Lions Municipal in Austin, Texas. The pair opened with an 11-under 60 and followed it up with a 9-under 62 for a 122 total, 20 shots under par.

Connor Smith and Michael Smith, who started the day three shots behind the Ormands, closed with a 67 and finished 2nd at 130 (-12). Mike Grindle and Joel Fults finished third at 131. Billy Clagett, the 6-time winner of the Firecracker Open held at Lions, teamed with Tim Wilson to finish tied for 4th at 132. Defending champions Zach Wilson and Mike Bertram couldn't recapture their magic of last year, recording rounds of 67-70 to finish tied for 23rd.

Robby Ormand, a freshman golfer at Texas Christian University, is the reigning Firecracker Open champion, having won last summer at Lions. His father Rob is a veteran of many tournaments at Lions over the years, and his brother Johnny also fared well in the tournament, finishing 9th with his partner Jordon Wolfe.
