Reeves wins Southeastern Amateur
COLUMBUS, GA (June 15, 2013) -- A final-round 67 allowed Seth Reeves to overtake third-round leader Jimmy Beck on Saturday and win the Southeastern Amateur at the Country Club of Columbus in Columbus, Ga. Reeves, who recently completed his senior season at Georgia Tech, also won this event in 2011.

Reeves, who finished T-13 at the Palmetto Amateur a week ago, played the final 36 holes in 9 under (66-67). He trailed Beck, a Kennesaw State sophomore, by a single shot entering the final round, but Beck closed with an even-par 71.

Reeves turned in even-par 36 on Saturday, but had four birdies over the final nine holes for a 4-under 31. He finished the tournament at 11-under 273 while Beck remained at 8-under 276.

Sean Stone, a sophomore at Indiana, and Ross Thomson, who recently completed his senior season at Charleston Southern, tied for third at 7-under 27.

ABOUT THE Southeastern Amateur

The Southeastern Amateur is a top-level amateur golf tournament with a rich history dating back to 1922 - when the tournament was created by Fred Haskins. Each year, the Southeastern Amateur has the great honor of hosting many of the nation's top amateur golfers, from Division I NCAA National Champions to the nation's top Mid- Amateurs.

Field is limited to 90 players. The format is 54 holes of stroke play with no cut. Open qualifier held the day before the tournament.
