A new line of putters has been released, featuring the original White Hot insert that so many fell in love with

When Callaway purchased putter maker Odyssey in July 1997, it was one of the top golf company acquisitions of all-time.

Three years later in 2000, Odyssey introduced a putter insert called the "White Hot", comprised of the same material as in Callaway's Rule 35 golf ball. Firm to the touch but soft at impact, the White Hot had a pleasing sound at impact that matched that magnitude of the strike better than many putters whose sound is more muffled.

In the years since, Odyssey has expanded its inserts to include all sorts of materials, but a devoted group of golfers have remained loyal to the original, so much so that nearly half of Odyssey putters used on pro tours last year were either older White Hot putters or newer putters with the original White Hot insert put in.

In response, Odyssey has released a new line of putters reintroducing the original White Hot insert.

The new Odyssey White Hot OG putters will be offered in the following head shapes: #1, #1WS, #5, Rossie (the most popular among tour pros), Rossie S, Seven, Seven S and 2-Ball. Each will be available with a traditional steel shaft or an updated Odyssey Stroke Lab shaft that features a graphite section that makes the shaft 40 grams lighter than all-steel.

The retail price on all models is $219.99 for a stock steel shaft, and $269.99 in the Stroke Lab shaft. These putters are all available for pre-order now, and they will be available at retail starting on January 28.
