Titleist announces new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls, brand ambassador Jimmy Walker talks with Golf Channel and NBC's Steve Sands
ORLANDO, FL (January 25, 2017) -- "The best performing and most advanced golf balls that we have ever made."
With hundreds of PGA Professionals in attendance Titleist kicked off the 2017 PGA Merchandise Show with the announcement of its new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.
The New Pro V1, with its low piercing ball flight boosts greater distance thanks to the reengineered Next Generation 2.0 ZG Process Core that adds length to shots of all types while also limiting spin and increasing ball speed. Through all the innovations the new Pro VI still maintains its soft feel around the green.
Continuing forward in 2017 is the tradition of distance with the Pro V1x. The distance has been enhanced with a 328 tetrahedral dimple design that leads to high trajectory and the balls most consistent flight ever. Speaking of flight, between the two balls the Pro V1x flies higher, has a firmer feel and spins more on high iron shots.
Of course more often than not the short game is where the game is won and lost and Titleist again delivers around the greens. Both models boost a Urethane Elastomer which helps the balls soft feel and it gives the ball long-lasting durability throughout the round.
“Every time we set out to develop new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls, our challenge is to set an even higher benchmark for golf ball performance,” said Michael Mahoney, Vice President, Titleist Golf Ball Marketing. “We are constantly in the field talking to golfers of all skill levels about what we can do to help them shoot lower scores. At the same time, the Titleist Golf Ball R&D and Operations teams are working together to develop new golf ball technologies that deliver performance golfers may not yet realize they need."
Since being released to the professional ranks hundreds of players have put the new Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x's into play including 2016 PGA Champion Jimmy Walker and he was on hand to talk about his playing success and also his partnership with Titleist.
Speaking with Golf Channel and NBC's Steve Sands Walker said, "I can't speak enough for the clubs and I think that everything is the best that it has ever been from top to bottom. I can't speak enough for how Titleist helped my family when we were hurt in 2005 and (working with Titleist) just been a great family atmosphere."
The new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls will be available for sale on January 25th.
