The new Callaway X Forged Utility irons offer all the latest tech, in a confidence inspiring, hollow body package

Callaway has already gone through two generations of supercomputer, as it has brought machine learning AI to golf club design. Flash face cups for distance, tungsten weights put in optimal locations, and urethane microspheres designed to improve feel and feedback have all been implemented in their game improvement irons.

With the new X Forged Utility irons, Callaway has put these technologies into a package that is more familiar to better players than a hybrid or high lofted fairway club. These players are still skilled enough to hit long irons, but also realize that it's hard to ignore extra forgiveness and yardage when you get into numbers like 2, 3, and 4 in the set.

"For players that see a hybrid and find the bulge and roll in the face unfamiliar to them, these are a genuine alternative for an easy launching long iron replacement," said Dr. Alan Hocknell, Callaway's Vice President of Research & Development.

On the PGA Tour, (and all tours for that matter) utility Irons are a popular addition to the bag, especially as a “fairway finder” off the tee. They also make a very versatile club to hit into par-5s or long par 4s.

X Forged Utility puts Callaway's best tech into a confidence-inspiring, hollow body construction, to serve better players looking for a new go-to club off the tee or from the fairway.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

High Ball Speeds
Callaway's A.I.-designed Flash Face Cup creates a sophisticated face architecture, for high ball speeds with outstanding spin robustness.

Extremely Soft Feel Forged 1025 mild carbon steel and hollow body construction combine with our proprietary urethane microspheres for pure feel.

Enhanced Launch and Control
Callaway's external MIM’d tungsten weighting allows them to precisely locate the CG position for optimal trajectory and launch. A longer blade length and a wider sole versus a traditional long iron provide forgiveness and control.

Premium Components
The Project X U is specifically designed to work with utility clubs for stability and control. The Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black HY is a player’s graphite shaft designed with low torque for aggressive swingers. Golf Pride’s Z Grip features a firm feel and exceptional traction.

Price and Availability
The X Forged UT irons will be available for preorder on 10/22/20 and at retail on 10/29/20 at a price of $250 per stick.
