It's going to be a busy week for Bob Vokey and his crew, as the SM8 becomes available for the first time to tour players

It's going to be a busy week for Bob Vokey and his crew at the PGA Tour's RSM Classic. That's because this week is the Tour unveiling of the new Vokey Design SM8 wedges. (Don't worry, public availability will follow soon.) No doubt, Mr. Vokey will utter some of his usual lines like "bounce is your friend" as he fits the world's best players for his best wedges ever. One thing's for certain, he takes the legacy of being the most played wedges on tour since 2004 very seriously. The Vokey Design line offered a multitude of bounce and lie configurations and pioneered the concept of "wedge fitting" on tour and that's what will be taking place this week in Coastal Georgia. Master Craftsman Bob Vokey, Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill and Director of Wedge R&D Kevin Tassistro will be on site at Sea Island Golf Club, working alongside Titleist’s Tour Reps, introducing players to the new SM8’s and fitting them into the best bounce and grind setups for their game. Tomorrow, Nov. 18, at the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic, the new Vokey Design SM8 wedges will be made available to tour players for the first time. TOUR VALIDATION - FROM UNMARKED WEDGES TO OFFICIAL DESIGNS The tour debut of SM8 follows months of iteration and testing, including the trial of early unmarked prototypes during practice rounds on the PGA Tour. Those prototypes were incredibly well received, with players commenting on improved flight and feel, and overall better results. Validating product performance across the worldwide professional tours is a critical step in the development of all high performance Titleist golf equipment. Stay tuned to Titleist.com and Titleist’s social channels for updates as this process continues over the coming weeks and months around the world.
