I’m not a club fitter or builder. I’m just a golfer trying to better understand the equipment I use—and how it impacts my game. Recently, after talking with a trusted club builder and reading more from Fujikura and other sources, I began to realize how important bend profile is—especially for players with a faster transition and moderate face closure through impact.

That realization helped me understand why the Fujikura Ventus Blue 6S with VeloCore+ has been such a great match. I’ve been working on my swing both on simulators and on course—most recently with a back-nine solo loop at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix—and this shaft just delivers.

What is Bend Profile?

Bend profile describes how stiff or soft a shaft is in different areas—typically broken into the tip, mid, and handle sections. This is different from general "flex" labels like stiff or regular. A shaft’s bend profile can greatly influence feel, timing, and face control.

For someone like me—with a quick transition from the top and some face closure at impact—the Ventus Blue’s profile makes a lot of sense. It stabilizes the face, offers a strong transition feel, and still provides feedback through the handle. I don’t have to force the club—it just stays with me.

Built for Feel and Forgiveness

The VeloCore+ tech inside the 2025 Ventus lineup reinforces everything I feel on the course: better face contact, reduced twisting, and more consistent launch even when I don’t strike it perfectly.

I’ve paired the shaft with a Cobra DARKSPEED LS driver head for a low-spin, forward-CG setup that fits my game goals. The combo gives me a high degree of control without sacrificing feel—and it’s now a core part of my confidence off the tee.

Real Feedback from the Course

On a recent back-nine loop at sunrise, I hit two totally different shots—one a controlled draw, one a high straight drive—and both worked beautifully. That’s what a well-fit shaft with the right bend profile can do: provide consistency without locking you into one type of swing.
