Ping also welcomed show-goers with an interactive and educational brand experience
ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 23, 2014) -- A quick glance at the presence Ping had at the 2014 PGA Show verified what the golf industry has come to know and expect from the Phoenix, Ariz.-based manufacturer.
Ping is ready for 2014.
With the recent release of its i25 series, Ping took over a swath of space at the Orange County Convention Center to showcase its entire product line, educate its PGA Professionals and let the consumer know what it’s all about this year.
We entered the ‘Ping Experience’ at its Pingology exhibition. Equal parts education and entertainment, Pingology was a digital and interactive showcase of Ping’s history that explained the brand to the consumer and even tested their knowledge following the ‘course’.
The key to Ping’s impressive display, though, was its product line.
With the i25 series leading the way, Ping had its full line of 2014 clubs showcased and saw a terrific influx of visitors to the booth.
The i25 series is a full slate of clubs geared towards a wide variety of golfers with varying skill levels.
The i25 driver has gained perhaps the most momentum since its early January launch thanks to its sporty look and crown alignment aid that has received rave reviews. I was especially intrigued to see the new PWR shaft (Performance, Weighting and Responsiveness).
The i25 irons were another key component to the Ping experience at the PGA Show. These irons, first off, look the part -- making sure to stay in line with the styling of Ping irons of the past. The technology behind them, though, most certainly set them apart. Considered player-improvement irons, the i25 can certainly help a competitive player improve consistency and feature progressive design for maximum shot control and additional stabilizing bars for increased forgiveness.
Ping’s S55 player irons and forgiving -- and mighty powerful -- Karsten irons (new for 2014) were also on display at the Ping booth this week as were the new Karsten TR putters, which include the Anser 2, Anser 5, B60, Pal and Zing models.
One of the brand’s biggest unveilings this week was the announcement of the Sensor Sport Gloves. Three gloves -- the Sensor Sport, Sensor Tour and Sensor Tech -- make up the lineup and all feature Ping’s Sensor Cool proprietary technology made to keep you dry. An added bonus to the glove is that sales of the glove will contribute to the Bubba Watson Foundation.
We’ll have much more coverage of the 2014 PGA Show and Ping’s lineup in the coming days, including a video with Chairman and CEO John Solheim.
