If there is one thing that amateur golfers put off more than anything else, it’s having new grips installed. Quite frankly, we can’t blame you. For one, it’s a pain to have to drop your sticks off and be at the mercy of how busy a golf shop is before you get them back. Could be a day, could be a week. And if you’ve tried going down the path of installing your own grips, you’ll know that you need all of the proper tools to get the job done right.

We bumped into Spot On Grips at a local driving range and couldn’t believe our eyes. A tent on the driving range with two gentlemen underneath it, manning grip stations and installing fresh grips at a feverish pace. The folks on the driving range could pick out their new grips, have them installed, practice, and hit the golf course. It’s the closest thing we’ve seen to a tour truck for the amateur player.

This Arizona-based company was founded by Josh Mulligan and he has Spot On Grips being installed throughout the Grand Canyon State as well as California and Oregon.

If you think your grips are being installed by an untrained eye, think again. According to their website, all Spot on Grips employees become certified only after completing a 40-hour training program. This is why you can count on quality work and each grip requiring only about two minutes to be installed.

The setup of a Spot On Grips tent easily lets you know which grip models they have for you to choose from, and it’s all of the top brands. Golf Pride, Lamkin, Star, SuperStroke, Winn, Sweet Rollz Golf, Iomic, Pure, and more.

A detail about Spot On Grips that we really like has to do with all of that garbage encountered when installing set after set. They recycle about 95% percent of worn grips with local rubber recyclers and all low-density polyethylene (LDPE) packaging at local LDPE recyclers. Now that’s something we can get behind.

To learn more about Spot On Grips, check out their website at SpotOnGrips.com and look for them at a course near you.
