Bandon Dunes Golf Resort - Bandon Trails

The challenge for Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw at Bandon Trails was to build a course that could stand proudly alongside Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes, the first two courses which had garnered so much acclaim for the Bandon Dunes Resort. And did they ever come through, creating a course equal in character and difficulty but with an entirely unique look and feel. Bandon Trails starts and ends in the same type of dunescape found at the other Bandon courses, but unlike the other it works in and out of the coastal meadows and thick forests, offering a variety of looks and making each round feel like a real journey. There are also some amazing features--from the 2nd greensite to the diagonal ridges on #4 and #6, to the 13th green--and the 5th and 14th holes have to be seen to be believed.
