In 1963, Miacomet opened as a year-round course for islanders and visitors alike. The course drew a small constituency of golf devotees from the then recently closed Tupancy Links and has been serving the Nantucket community ever since.

In the mid-1980's, Ralph Marble sold his land to the Nantucket Islands Land Bank and in 2003, an additional 9 was built across the road to make Miacomet the island's only 18-Hole public facility.
