Odyssey has crafted yet another exceptional putter for 2014.
The Metal X putter has it all; in fact some might call this putter Odyssey’s "All-Star." Odyssey has taken the best qualities of their last three putters and combined them into one: the precision milled construction from the Protype Series, the adjustable weights found in the Prototype ix Series and the face pattern of the pervious Metal X Series. The Odyssey Metal X can be purchased in the $299-$349 price range.
FIRST REACTION
The Odyssey Metal X Milled putter offers everything a putting specialist wants. The Feedback is responsive with a firm and consistent feel. Additionally, the Metal X Milled putter delivers great consistency from off-center hits with minimal distance loss.
Apart from the stellar feel, Odyssey created a putter with amazing weight and balance. This mid-weighted putter feels stable throughout the stroke. The head of the putter is weighted proportionally to the shaft which promotes a smoother, more consistent stroke. On top of all that, you get a clean "pop" upon impact. Although the price tag might be a little high; with the exceptional feel and weight of the Metal X Milled, and the old adage "drive for show, putt for dough" - there’s no reason why you shouldn’t put one of these in your bag along with that new driver you're looking at.
