This season, the National Car Rental PGA Pro-Am Series will connect PGA of America members and amateur golfers across the country for events that look more like a PGA Tour event than a typical local chapter PGA event.
“Many of our business travel customers have a passion for the game of golf, so we wanted to create a tournament series that would draw excitement and participation nationwide among amateur golfers at the local level,” said Rob Connors, assistant vice president of brand marketing for National.
National Car Rental, which is the official car rental partner of the PGA of America, will sponsor 82 sectional events throughout the upcoming season, and will attend roughly half with the “Go Like a Pro” mobile bus experience. The Series is also set to receive some terrific promotion from PGA Tour star Keegan Bradley and his father Mark, a PGA professional.
It will all culminate in a championship experience with one of the 82 winning teams randomly selected to enjoy a a VIP golf experience with Keegan and his father.
"Amateurs that sign up for our Emerald Club program and win one of the Pro-Am tournaments will have a chance to enjoy the experience with Keegan and receive a lesson from his father," Connors said.
The mobile experience is a customized golf-themed bus that will help bring a tour-like feel to the events in the 41 PGA of America sections this year. The bus will feature Trackman swing analysis for swing comparisons to Keegan's, club regripping and more.
