Titleist unveiled new Cameron, Vokey products at Demo Day

ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2014) -- The rain came and it pushed some people away, but the Demo Day at Orange County National, which officially kicked off the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show, was a success.

One of the companies that made a major impact on the first day of the show was Titleist. The brand that has become known as the No. 1 ball in golf showcased two of its other product lines with unveilings during Demo Day.

Golf fans learned first of the new Spin Milled 5 wedges from Master Craftsman Bob Vokey, an updated take on the game’s top-performing wedges with themes and characteristics based off feedback from what Vokey calls the best Research and Development department in the game -- the PGA Tour.

The SM5 wedges feature new grinds, grooves and finishes, which combine for an overall experience that allows golfers more spin on more types of shots, lies and conditions and an increased ability to hit it close thanks to the precise engineering of deeper TX3 grooves and an extensive range of bounce and grind options.

The wedges have already seen success on the PGA Tour with the likes of Adam Scott, Steve Stricker and Jason Dufner playing the brand.

We talked with Vokey Product Marketing Director Dave Neville at the show and will have a video review of the SM5 wedges available soon.

The Titleist brand also unveiled Tuesday new putters from the Scotty Cameron line -- Select and GoLo.

The new Scotty Cameron GoLo is a mallet putter with a rounded profile. Four different models make up the line -- GoLo 3, GoLo 5, GoLo S5 and GoLo 7 -- allowing players a choice in determining size and neck configurations.

The newly-unveiled Select putters are precision-milled and made according to tour- inspired preferences. Three modern blade designs from the Newport family -- Newport, Newport 2 and Newport 2.5 -- and two mid- mallet designs make up the line. The mid- mallets, the Fastback and Squareback, feature crisscross sight lines for a new alignment aid.

And of course, Footjoy had on display its latest footwear, the D.N.A. shoe.

With more technology than seemingly every other shoe currently on the market, the D.N.A. has been worn already by Adam Scott.

The D.N.A. has been marketed to be the perfect blend of style, functionality and comfort thanks to its SnugFit tongue, 3D foam collar, ChromoSkin leather collar and Fine-Tuned- Foam Cushioning system.

Set to unveil updated golf balls on Wednesday, it’s a great start to the 2014 PGA Show for Titleist and we’re excited to see what the rest of the show holds for the brand.

We’ll continue to profile some of the game’s biggest club manufacturers as the show progresses, so keep an eye out for news and information on the Callaway experience on Wednesday.
