FAIRVIEW, TX (April 5, 2006)--A full field of 84 players will be vying for the 2006 North Regional Amateur title from Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9, at Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club in Fairview.
This year’s field for the North Regional Amateur is one of the strongest ever assembled. Among those competing for the title from April 7-9 at Heritage Ranch will be Mark Lindberg, Roger Marcincuk, Jim Neumann, and Bart Goodwin, four of the top five finishers on last year’s North Regional Player of the Year list.
Also in the field are 2006 North Four-Ball Champions Stephen Love and Joe Owen and Runners-Up Dru Fenimore and his partner Dan Dunkelberg, a two-time State Mid-Amateur Champion.
Format for the event is 54-hole individual stroke play, and competitors will have a little something extra to shoot for in this year’s championship. In the past only the winner earned an exemption into the State Amateur, but the TGA Championship Committee instituted change and will now award the top three finishers an exemption.
