Iowa Mid-Am: Elliot wins 4th
AMES, Iowa (May 12, 2013) -- Gene Elliott won his fourth Iowa Mid-Amateur title on Saturday at Ames Golf & Country Club. Elliott put together a final round 2-over par 73 in extremely windy conditions to finish two strokes ahead of 2011 champion Jon Olson.

Elliott, who also won Mid-Amateur titles in 1998, 2000 & 2009, opened with a 2-under 69 and then shot the day lowest round on Saturday with a 73. Winds howled at Ames G&CC, holding steady around 30 mph most of the day making scoring extremely difficult.

Bob Brummel put together a final round 75 to win the Senior Division. He finished two strokes ahead of Joe Palmer, who just recently became eligible for senior golf.
