Texarkana, AR- Mississippi wins the 2013 Governor's Cup 25-15 points. Mississippi won 11 points in the singles matches to Arkansas's 9. Mississippi won 7.5 points in the four-ball matches to Arkansas's 2.5 points. Team Mississippi won 6.5 points in the foursome matches to Arkansas's 3.5 points.

Mississippi ties up the matches with each team winning The Cup 4 times. The Mississippi Golf Association and the Arkansas State Golf Association host the annual matches where the top amateurs compete in four-ball, foursome, and singles matches. The singles matches are underway now. The ASGA is the host of the 8th annual playing of the matches at historicnTexarkana CC. Texarkana CC hosted the matches in 2007.

ABOUT THE Governor's Cup

Team matches between amateur teams representing the Arkansas and Mississippi state golf associations.

Format: The Governor's Cup is a Ryder cup format. Team Mississippi competes with Team Arkansas in Four-Ball Match Play, Foursome (alternate shot) Match Play and Singles Match Play. Each match is worth 1 point.

Eligibility: The cup team is comprised of 20 competitors; 10 regular, 8 senior and 2 super senior. The team is selected from the player of the year points from the previous year.
