Georgia Four-Ball: Hall/Nelson take it
EVANS, Ga. (April 28, 2013) -- Jack Hall of Sea Island and Danny Nelson of Savannah began the final round with the lead and ended the final round with the lead to win the Georgia Four-Ball Championship at Champions Retreat Golf Club at 16-under-par 200 (67-67-66). Bob Royak of Alpharetta and Robert Sheats of Atlanta finished in the runner-up spot at 13-under-par 203 (67-68-68).

This victory marks the second time Hall and Nelson have teamed up to win the Georgia Four-Ball Championship. Their first title came back in 2005 at Georgia National Golf Club in McDonough.

Over the course of the 54-hole competition, Hall and Nelson recorded one eagle, 18 birdies and four bogeys. Starting the day with just a one-stroke advantage, Hall and Nelson bogeyed their first hole, bounced back to birdie two of the next three holes, and then never looked back while making the turn at 2-under-par for the day. The tandem continued to pull away from the rest of the pack on the back nine with birdies on 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 and a bogey on 17.

Due to moderate rainfall early Sunday morning, the final round was delayed 30 minutes.

Finishing in third was the team of Jacob Hitt of Richmond Hill and Travis Williamson of Brunswick at 12-under-par 204 (68-69-67). In fourth place was David Noll, Jr., of Dalton and Mark Strickland of Woodstock at 11-under-par 205 (71-67-67). The fifth spot on the final leaderboard included two teams: Bobby Brent III and Bubba Gallops, both of Columbus (68-72-68), and Cres Dodd of Calhoun and Greg Johnson of Cartersville (71-69-69). Rounding out the top 10 were four teams tied for seventh at 7-under-par 209: Mike Cromer of Peachtree Corners and William Mitchell of Roswell (71-69-68); Eric Freese of Athens and Chris Waters of Atlanta (68-74-67); Adam Thomas of Baxley and Dave Womack of McDonough (74-68-67); and Chase Jones and Jayce Stepp, both of Cartersville (66-74-79).
