AUSTIN, Texas (March 25, 2013) -- Paul Moore fired rounds of 71-76 to take the top prize at the Morris Williams Spring Mid-Amateur Championship by one shot over Robert Evans, Craig Cyr and Robby Russell.

On a day when scores ballooned, Moore relied on his solid first round to overcome the three runners-up.

Evans opened with a 71 and trailed first-round leader Wayne Smith (68) by three shots alongside Moore. When Smith struggled with a closing 86, the door was open for Moore and Evans.

Russell and Cyr both shot rounds of 75-73 to finish tied for second place.

Jeff Shell (72-77) and Paul Canas (72-77) were tied for fifth place.
