Phoenix City Amateur tees off Friday
PHOENIX, Ariz. (March 20, 2013) -- The 2013 Phoenix City Amateur tees off Friday at the city's five championship courses: Maryvale, Aguila and Papago.
The event, which is in its 28th year, is now a 54-hole stroke-play tournament played over three days. Other courses in the Phoenix City rotation are Cave Creek and Encanto.
Defending champion Mike Wog is going for his third straight title. Ken Kellaney has a record eight titles to his name.
Play in all five netted flights begins Friday morning.
