MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 18, 2013) - The winner of the Tampa Bay Championship trusted Project X in his irons to score his first career PGA TOUR victory this past weekend.

The champion fended off a close competitor with a bogey-free final 37 holes and two birdies in the final round for two- stroke victory. With a final total of 274, he not only clenched his first PGA TOUR win, but also earned an invitation to The Masters in April.

"Consistency in your irons is essential for all players, particularly when you are playing on golf's highest stage. Project X has proven to be the winning different time and again for the world's best players," says Chad Hall, director of product marketing and global tour operations for True Temper Sports. "As the season heats up, we look forward to celebrating more victories as Project X steel iron shafts and Project X graphite woods shafts are being found in the hands of the PGA TOUR's elite players."

Truth in Numbers:

• Tampa Bay Championship winner's bag: Project X 6.5
• 122 sets of shafts by True Temper in the field
• 9 2013 PGA TOUR wins for True Temper shafts

Project X shafts feature straight taper and short tip sections that provide maximum energy transfer with low spin rates required for penetrating iron shots.
