Ko, Lennon share Australian Women's medalist
SOUTH OAKLEY, VICTORIA, Australia (Jan.
16, 2013) -- World Number 1 New
Zealander Lydia Ko and Victorian Grace
Lennon shared Medallist honours after
qualifying at the Australian Women’s
Amateur Championship.
Ko, the defending Amateur champion, fired
rounds of 69 and 71 to share the lead
with Lennon at 6-under par who finished
with consecutive 70s.
Western Australian Minjee Lee is in a tie
for third with Japanese pair Asuka
Kashiwabara and Kotone Hori at 4-under
par after the two rounds.
Lee’s fellow Western Australian Tatiana
Wijaya finished at 3-under par.
The first round of knock out Match Play is
held on Thursday at Commonwealth Golf
Club.
ABOUT THE Australian Women's Amateur
The Australian Men's and Women's Amateur
Championships are Australia's
oldest Amateur Golf Championships, with both having
been played since 1894.
Long held as a match play event, in 2021 the format
changed to 72 holes of
stroke play.
