Minjee Lee leads Australia Women's Am
SOUTH OAKLEY, VICTORIA, Australia (Jan. 15, 2013) -- Western Australia’s Minjee Lee leads after an opening round 5-under par 68 in fine conditions at Woodlands Golf Club.
Lee, a former runner-up at the Championships, mixed eight birdies with a bogey and double bogey to lead by one stroke from New Zealander and World Number 1 amateur Lydia Ko and Western Australia’s Tatiana Wijaya who shot 4-under par 69s.
Victorian Grace Lennon and New Zealand’s Munchin Keh are tied fourth at 3-under par.
Western Australia’s Hannah Green is tied with China’s Jing Yan and Japan’s Asuka Kashiwabara in sixth place after 2-under par 71s. The second round of qualifying is held on Wednesday.
