Rose posted a three-over par round of 74 in the first round, to trail Mike Damron, of Zephyrhills. John Vaccaro, finished in second place with a tournament total of four-over par 146. Tim Cox, of Palm Beach Gardens, earned third place honors with a tournament total of 149.

In the final round Peel stumbled by making a triple bogey on the par three 7th hole to trail Jack Ramsey, of Germantown, by two strokes with four holes to play. Peel played steady on the final holes to hold on for a one stroke victory over Ramsey. Fred Allen, of North Venice, Randy Briggs, of Ocala, and Ray Darmstadt, of Cocoa Beach, tied for third place with a tournament total of 152.

The Winter Series events include seven competitions, six individual events and one four-ball event. There are three age divisions, Mid-Senior (40-54), Senior (55-64) and Super Senior (65 & over). The Winter Series is a great opportunity for golfers to compete in competitive events that normally may not because they do not live in Florida year round.
