CCNC Amateur: Jacob Mast goes low, takes lead
PINEHURST, N.C. (Dec. 19, 2012) -- Jacob Mast fired a 5-under 67 at Country Club of North Carolina's Dogwood Course and takes a three-shot lead into the final round of play Thursday at the Inaugural Country Club of North Carolina Amateur.

Mast, of Liberty University, trailed leaders Logan Harrell (NC State) and Ben-Marvin Egel (Purdue) by three shots but rallied with the tournament's low round to take the lead.

Harrell is in second place, tied alongside Caleb Sturgeon (South Carolina) and Justin Clement (20912 Cardinal Amateur winner).

The inaugural Country Club of North Carolina Amateur is a 54-hole stroke play event with no cut presented by the Tarheel Golf Foundation. The event is being contested on the CCNC's Dogwood Course, which has hosted many CGA and USGA events.

The top 12 finishers of the event will earn a round at nearby Pinehurst No. 2.
