SCGA Tournament of Champions: Net/Senior event wraps up

PALM DESERT, Calif. (Dec. 13, 2012) -- It was a picture perfect day in the desert Monday, leading to ideal playing conditions for the competitors of the net portion of the 2012 SCGA Tournament of Club Champions. Club champions with indexes of 2.5-24.4 are flighted in the net event, which this year took place at the Classic Club, Mission Hills CC and Indian Wells Golf Resort.

The Bobby Jones flight was won by Igor Suvorov of The Jag Group, who finished with a 1-under par 71. Perry huyck of Split Tee Golf Assoc. matched the winning score with a 1-under round of his own, but took second place after a card-off.

The Jack Nicklaus flight was won by Steve Barker of Mission Trails Men's GC (pictured), who won his flight by an impressive five strokes over Douglas Peterson of Los Angeles Royal Vista. Barker carded a round of 7-under par 65.

Tim Kozick of Nauti Nine won the Ben Hogan flight with a round of 7-under par 65. Coming in second was Woodland Hills CC member Stephen Kwan, who finished the day at 3-under par 69.

The Byron Nelson flight (top 5 pictured) was won with a 6-under par 66 by Winston Samson of St. Denis GC, while William Grizzle of Meadowlark GC took second with a score of 1-under par 71.

Over in the Arnold Palmer flight, Herald Kim of Kents Fun Club barely edged out Rey Figueroa of Pinoy Golfers of America, as the two men finished with scores of 5-under par 67 annd 4-under par 68, respectively.

Lastly, the Gary Player flight was won by Michael Uchida of OCAAGA, who carded a score of 4-under par 68. Michael Maher of West Rey GC came in second with a 1-under par 71.
