N. Carolina Super Sr.: Boswell wins third
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 27, 2012) -- Final round results of the 5th North Carolina Super Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, NC on Thursday, September 27, 2012 (6121 yards, par 35-37—72, 68.5/125).

69-year-old Larry Boswell of Jamestown carded a final round two-under par 70 to win his third North Carolina Super Senior Championship title by one stroke over Jack Williams of Gastonia. Boswell, who won in 2008 and 2010, finished at three-under 141 for the championship. The win marks Boswell’s 15th career CGA title.

“This is an age group where you do the best you can,” Boswell said. “At our age it is really tough to shoot a low score. You are going to miss some shots and three-putt occasionally. But it is still competitive and a lot of fun. I was fortunate to finish one ahead this time.”

Defending champion Mike Sprouts of Newton finished at one-over 145 and in a tie for sixth place.
