Carolinas Super Sr.: Pridgen, Kline hold lead
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 26, 2012) -- First round results of the 5th North Carolina Super Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, NC on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 (6121 yards, par 35-37—72, 68.5/125).

Jim Pridgen of Jamestown and Rick Kline of Davidson each carded a two-under 70 to share the lead by one stroke after the first round.

Only one shot out is 2008 & 2010 champion Larry Boswell of Jamestown, Arlis Pike of Kernersville and Jack Williams of Gastonia.

Defending champion Mike Sprouts of Newton posted a two-over 74 and is tied for 12th place.

Pine Island CC is traditionally a par 71 course but the 14th hole is playing as a 451-yard par 5 at this event.

Final round of the 36-hole event is set for a 9:30am shotgun start at Pine Island Country Club on Thursday. Round two groupings are listed at the bottom.

Open to any male golfer 65 and older, a resident of North Carolina, a member of a CGA member club, and an index that does not exceed 15.4.
