Team USA leads Jr. Ryder Cup 7-5
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. (Sept. 24, 2012) -- Team USA leads Team Europe 7-5 after Day 1 at the 8th Junior Ryder Cup at Olympia Fields Country Club.
In Monday's foursome matches, Team USA received points from four matches. Cameron Champ and Beau Hossler of the USA halved Toby Tree and Gavin Moynihan of Team Europe. Casie Cathrea and Samantha Wagner bested Bronte Law and Quirine Eijkenboom 3-and-2. Casey Danielson and Karen Chung knocked off Harang Lee and Covadonga Sanjuan 2-and-1. And Alison Lee and Esther Lee beat Linneea Strom and Emily Pedersen in 18 holes.
In Monday's Four-Ball matches, Cathrea/Champ, Robby Shelton/Karen Chung and Jim Liu/Esther Lee won matches for the U.S.
Play continues Tuesday at Olympia Fields with 12 singles matches to decide the cup.
