Cox, Spradlin lead at SC Players Four-Ball
BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (Sept. 15, 2012) -- Scott Cox and Paul Spradlin hold a one shot lead after a first round score of 63 in the SCGA’s Players Four Ball Championship at Columbia Country Club.
Cox (Boiling Springs) and Spradlin (Spartanburg) combined for nine birdies and no bogies en route to nines of 31 – 32 for their low score of 63. The duo got hot in the middle of their round making seven birdies between holes #7 and #15. They hold a one shot lead over Columbia Country Club members Eddie Hargett and Whit Suber.
The final round of the Championship will be played on Sunday beginning at 8.00 a.m. off of #1 tee.
The 28th Annual SCGA Players Four Ball Championship is being played on the par 72 – 6,935 yard Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, S.C. The field consists of 64 two-man teams playing Best Ball format conducted over thirty six holes. The Players Four Ball Championship is one of 19 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.
