Matt Crenshaw leads at N.C. Mid-Am
ROCKY MOUNT, NC - First round results of the 19th North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, NC on Friday, September 14, 2012 (6558 yards yards, par 36-35—71, 71.8/137).
Current North Carolina Amateur and North Carolina Amateur Match Play champion, Matthew Crenshaw of Burlington, NC, carded a two-under par 69 to hold a one stroke lead over 2007 North Carolina Mid-Amateur champion Gary Robinson of Fayetteville, NC.
Defending champion, Brian Westveer of Charlotte, NC posted a four-over 75 and stands tied for 21st place.
After 36 holes the field will be cut to the low 60 scores and ties for the final two rounds.

ABOUT THE North Carolina Mid-Amateur
North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship is open
to
any male amateur golfer who has reached his 30th
birthday, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a
member in good standing of a club which is a
member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and
has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at a
CGA member club that does not exceed 5.4.
Sectional qualifying is required in the weeks before
the championship unless exemption criteria is met.
54-hole stroke play event with a cut to the low 60
and ties after 36 holes.
