NCGA Match Play: Myers, Roberts share medalist honors

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (Aug. 14, 2012) -- Jay Myers and Austin Roberts held the lead after Monday's first round of stroke play and they were sitting in the same position following Tuesday's completion of stroke play at the 2012 NCGA Match Play Championship.

Myers and Roberts fired identical second-round 3-over 75s to accompany equally-identical 6-under 66s and earn co-medalist honors at 3-under 141 after the two days of stroke play at Spyglass Hill.

Maverick McNealy was third, sitting two shots back at 1-under 143 while Ben Geyer is fourth.

Match play begins Wednesday with the top 32 players following stroke play moving on to the single-elimination bracket running through Friday.

ABOUT THE Northern California Match Play

Eligibility: Players must have a numeric handicap index of 5.4 or less.

Format: 18 holes stroke play qualifying. 100 players plus ties and exempts will advance to the championship proper. Championship will be 36 holes stroke play, 18 holes per day. 32 Players will advance to single elimination Match Play beginning on Wednesday and concluding on Friday.
