Another weekend hits the nationwide amateur golf cicruit and it's bound to be as impactful as the one we saw last week.
For starters, the highly-prestigious Western Amateur wraps up at Exmoor Country Club in suburban Chicago. After three grueling days and four even more grueling rounds, one of the best fields we'll see in any amateur event is cut to 16. The 'Sweet 16' heads into match play Friday and Saturday with the championship match Saturday afternoon. Washington Huskies star Chris Williams earned medalst honors and is the favorite heading into the match play portion of the event. Follow updates from the Western Amateur here.
Texas State Open and the Austin City Championship tee off Friday and conclude Sunday. Follow the action as some of the top amateurs in a popular amateurgolf.com state take aim at a pair of prestigious titles ahead of next week's North and South Amateur Championships.
In California, a number of crucial tournaments either begin or wrap up, including: the Stockton City, Contra Costa County and Los Angeles Match Play. Keep an eye on amateurgolf.com for full coverage of those events throughout the weekend.
As always, stay tuned to amateurgolf.com and our weekend scoreboard for full coverage and updates from all key events throughout the country.
