West Virginia Am: Roush takes early lead
WHITE SULFUR SPRINGS, W.V. (July 30, 2012) -- The 93rd installment of West Virginia’s most historic and prestigious golf Championship began July 30 at America’s Resort, The Greenbrier.
Mason’s Trent Roush is the leader following round one, shooting a 3-under-par 69. Five players shot an under-par score on the resort’s Greenbrier course during the first round.
This year’s 100-player field includes Past Champions such as Pat Carter, Steve Fox and Harold Payne, along with many more of the state’s most talented amateur golfers. Live scoring will be available through nine holes for the second round, where the field will play the Old White TPC course, home of The Greenbrier Classic.

ABOUT THE West Virginia Amateur
Must be a WVGA member, players who are not
exempt
must qualify at one of the six qualifying locations in
May. Format is 72-holes of stroke play championship
with the field cut to the low 48 players and ties at
the
completion of 36 holes.
