Nebraska Am: Greg Sohl takes crown
OMAHA, Neb. (July 29, 2012) -- Greg Sohl of Wahoo was the best closer Sunday securing the 104th Nebraska Amateur at Scotts Bluff Country Club.
Trailing by a single shot entering the final round, Sohl made 8 straight pars before jump starting his round with an eagle on the par 5 9th hole to take sole possession of the lead at 6-under par. Birdies on 13, 15 and 17 moved him to 9-under before a bogey on the final hole. His 68 was the best score of the day by 2 shots.
Mitchell Klooz of Laurel (left) finished runner-up at 6-under par, his finish also secured him the honor of low junior. A co-leader after round 3, Klooz shot 71 Sunday.
The other co-leaders, Paul Mohr of Scottsbluff (-3) and John Sajevic of Fremont (+1) finished 4th and 7th respectively.
