Cal State Open: Storm Lee low am in 3rd place

BEAUMONT, Calif. (July 17, 2012) -- The 2012 California State Open closed it's first of four rounds of competition with 61 players firing rounds of even or better. The Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon's Champions Course played at 7165 yards and provided a great test of golf for this very talented field.
However, Hyunseok Lim of La Palma, CA managed to fire a round of 65 (-7) and opened a two stroke lead over JJ Spaun (Newport Beach, CA), Storm Lee (a) (Murrieta, CA) and Nico Bollini (Orange, CA). Hyunseok's round include six birdies, an eagle on the par four 13th and a lone bogey. Storm Lee holds a one stroke lead over SCPGA Junior Tour Member Ki Taek Lee (La Quinta, CA) who shot 68 in the battle for low amateur.
Josh Garber, PGA of the Vintage Club leads the Southern California PGA Professionals in the field with his 68 (-4) in the afternoon and Jeff Cranford, PGA of the Palms Golf Club shot a 69 (-3) in the morning round to stay right in the mix.
