Leader board jammed at Kentucky State Am
SIMPSONVILLE, Kent. (June 19, 2012) -- It's been six years since the Kentucky State Amateur was contested at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville. The winning score back then was 1 under par. If the players in this year's field have anything to say about it, the winning score will be much lower.
Four players have posted a three under par score of 68 and another seven contestants are under par as well. Defending champion Patrick Newcomb from Benton is among the leaders along with Jared Flanery, Taylor Riggs and Tyler Mitchell.
The second round gets underway tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. EDT with the field being cut to the low 70 and ties for the final round on Thursday.
