Turner captures LA City Championship
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 2012) -- Michael Turner of Sherman Oaks posted a final round 71 to capture the coveted Los Angeles City Me's Championship by three strokes over Chatsworth resident Jonathan Sanders.

Turner, who opened the event with a 71, relied on the impressive scores of 66-65 in the second and third rounds to place some distance between himself and the rest of the field.

Sanders carded the low round of the event, a 64 in his second round, but his 70-64-70-72--276 total would come up three strokes shy.

Kyle P. George of Sierra Madre posted 71-65-72-71--279 and finished alone in third place.

ABOUT THE Los Angeles City

Play is at Rancho Park Golf Course all four days for the championship flight. There is a cut to 50 and ties after 36-holes. Entry forms on website, at LA city courses and Golf Division Hqtrs. 6 weeks in advance. Minimum age is 16 and maximum handicap is 30.
