Eure blisters course with 64 at Maryland State Amatuer
SEVERNA PARK, MD (June 7, 2012) -- Josh Eure, Crofton CC, opened the 91st Maryland State Amateur championship with a 64 and leads by four strokes over four players who posted 68's.
Eure played the front-nine bogey free and picked up birdies on holes No. 5 and No. 9. He caught fire on the back with an eagle on 10 and birdies on holes No. 12, No. 14 and No. 16.
Eure will start his senior year at the University of Arkansas this fall.

ABOUT THE Maryland State Amateur
This tournament is open to male amateurs
who
are residents of Maryland or members of
member clubs of the MSGA with an
up-to-date USGA index at that club. 18 hole
qualifying
rounds will
be held for those who do not meet exemption
criteria. 18 holes of stroke play will determine the
match play field of 32, with the defending
champion automatically qualifying unless
he
elects to compete for the Medalist prize.
