Smell/Helin win Kansas Four-Ball Championship
SPRING HILL, Ks. (June 6, 2012) -- Kyle Smell and Jared Helin led by one shot going into the final round of the 24th Kansas Four-Ball Championship on Wednesday. That margin ended up being enough as Smell/Helin fired a final round 9-under par 63 to win by one shot over the Hutchinson team of Evan Holcomb and Thane Ringler, who closed with an 11-under par 61. In the Masters Division, three teams were tied for the lead following 54 holes. The Lawrence duo of Chris Hutchens/Mike Rack made birdie on the third playoff hole to win over the teams of Tyson Osborn/TJ Vilkanskas and Zac Burton/David Rismiller.
