Valois, Leopold tied at Burke Memorial
NEWPORT, R.I. (May 14, 2012) -- After play was cancelled May 9, the first round was finally played at the Burke Memorial.
Brad Valois and Bobby Leopold hold the first round lead after shooting 1 under par 70 at Shelter Harbor. Defending champion Charlie Blanchard is 1 stroke back after shooting even par 71.
In the Senior Division David McNally leads Paul Quigley after shooting 2 over par 73.
Final round play will continue at the following locations and dates:
Shelter Harbor has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 15th.
Newport CC has been rescheduled for Tuesday, June 5th.

ABOUT THE John P. Burke Memorial
36-hole stroke play tournament played over two
weekends, with gross and net competitions. Players
age
55 and over will compete simultaneously in tournament
proper and senior division. Eligibility: All amateur
golfers who are a member at RIGA member club and
hold a RIGA membership.
