Rogers, Riddle lead Kentucky Sr. Two-Man
LEXINGTON, Kent. (May 14, 2012) -- 77 two-man teams teed it up at The University Club of Kentucky in Lexington today to begin two days of competition over the clubs two 18-hole layouts. Competitors will be playing 18 holes of four ball stroke play and 18 holes of modified Chapman alternate shot on both the Wildcat and Big Blue courses to accumulate both gross and net totals for overall awards.
Nagging rainy conditions added to the difficulty of University Club’s challenging 36 holes of golf during round 1 play. The Championship Flight and 65 & Over Flight played modified Chapman alternate shot format on the Wildcat Course. The team of Steve Rogers and Jimmy Riddle fired a gross score of 63 to lead the Championship Flight. While the team of Larry Grasch and Gary Smith tallied a gross score of 66 and a net score of 62 to lead the 65 & Over Flight.
Handicap Flight 1 and Handicap Flight 2 played four ball stroke play format on the Big Blue Course. Jim Orr and Tim Cushman totaled a net score of 62 to lead Handicap Flight 1. Tom Waterbury and Albert Gehringer lead Handicap Flight 2 after a blistering net 56 total.

FORMAT: 18 Hole Chapman Alternate Shot (gross &
net) - Day 1
18 Hole Four-Ball (gross & net) - Day 2
Open flight (gross scoring only) plus Mid-Senior,
Senior, Masters and Legends flights (with gross and
net scoring).
Entrants in all KGA tournaments shall be required to
have an active Handicap Index at a Kentucky Golf
Association Member Club at the time of entry and
meet the championship’s residency requirements.
