WATSONVILLE, Calif. (May 6, 2012) -- Carmel's Robby Salomon held on for the wire-to-wire win at the 12th annual Apple City Amateur.
After carding a 68 in Saturday's first round at Spring Hills Golf Course, Salomon and the rest of the field tackled Pajaro Valley Golf Club on Sunday.
Salomon fired a 72 for a 140 total to claim a four-stroke victory over runner-up Weston Payne of Menlo Park.
Travis Stephens took third with 146, Sean Dyer was fourth at 147 and Matthew Ogden and Sean Etow tied for fifth at 148.
Ogden closed with 71, making him the only player to break par in the final round.
Neil Duffy won the senior flight. He closed with 73 for a 149 total.
Frank Pieper took second at 150 and Ken Noon took third at 151.
In the first net flight, Dino Miyamoto closed with 73 for a 142 total. Esteban Rodriguez took second with a 144 total and Ron Mendez was third at 145.
