Willis leads with one round remaing at Mississippi Mid-Am
Hattiesburg, MS (March 24, 2012) -- Robert Willis retains the lead going into tomorrow’s final round at Hattiesburg Country Club. Five birdies brought Willis to a 3-under, 69 and 8-under total for the tournament. Defending champion, Clay Homan, sits two strokes behind at 6-under. Accompanying Willis and Homan in the final pairing is Richard Reed at 1-under and Ben Snow at even par. Final round pairings have been posted and will continue off the first and tenth tee beginning at 8am. Many thanks to the staff at Hattiesburg Country Club for their continued hospitality to Mississippi Amateurs.

ABOUT THE Mississippi Mid-Amateur

Tournament is scheduled for 54 holes of stroke play. Field size is limited to the first 96 players. The Championship is open to male amateurs who have reached their 25th birthday and are bona fide residents of the state of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round of the tournament. Participants must conform with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. All participants in Mississippi Golf Association State Championships will be required to have an active GHIN Handicap through a USGA Licensed Mississippi Club. Participants must be bona fide residents of the state of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round of the tournament.
