General Hackler Collegiate: North Florida leads
PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. (March 12, 2012) -- The 15-team field, featuring seven of the nation's top 50 teams, is led by North Florida (582).
North Florida, ranked 14th, moved from sixth after round one to first after shooting a two-under par round of 282 in the afternoon session. Ninth-ranked Arkansas is second (584), followed by 19th-ranked New Mexico (587), 49th-ranked and two-time defending NCAA champion Augusta State (587), 41st ranked East Carolina (589) and 24th-ranked Virginia (590).
The host Coastal Carolina Chanticleers did not have the day they had hoped, Peter Valasek, playing as an individual, is second after two rounds. The freshman carded a one-under par 70 in the first round and posted an even-par round of 71. His one-under 141 trails the leader by two strokes and is one stroke ahead of a two-way tie for second. North Florida's Sean Dale, ranked 46th individually in the nation, leads the 84-individual field, shooting a three-under 1399 (69-70).
The 54-hole event will conclude Monday with tee times ranging from 7:30-9:10 am starting off the first and 10th holes.
