Tasmanian Open: Ricky Kato continues to lead

PROSPECT VALE, Tasmania (Feb. 24, 2012) -- New South Wales’ Ricky Kato continues to lead the championship following completion of the second round.

Kato, a member of the Bonnie Doon Golf Club, shot a fabulous second round of 65 (-6) to lead the field by four strokes at ten-under-par.

Western Australia’s Brady Watt follows Kato on six-under-par with Victoria’s Geoff Drakeford in pursuit on four-under-par in third.

Tasmania Golf Club’s Andrew Phillips is the leading Tasmanian on three-under-par following a second round of 67 (-4).

The Men's Tasmanian Open is an Australian Men's Ranking Event. It is for players of any age and is played over 72- holes stroke play. First played in 1913 the history of the Tasmanian Open is steeped in tradition and former champions include Nick Flanagan, Ashley Hall, England’s Ben Parker, Rohan Blizard and Tim Stewart while Geoff Ogilvy, Brendan Jones and Mathew Goggin claimed the title during the nineties.
