New Year's Invitational: Stephan Jaegar leads after Round 3
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Jan. 7, 2012) -- Stephan Jaegar holds a one-shot lead after the third round of the 2012 New Year's Invitational at St. Petersburg Country Club.
Jaegar shot a 72 but entered the day with a four-shot lead and will enter Sunday's final round leading a talented group of players.Standing alone in second place is Garland Green, who fired a second consecutive sub-70 round with a third-round 69.
Jim Liu bounced into third place after a terrific third-round 67, which was the day's low round. Billy Williamson separated himself from the field with a final-round 71 to take home the mid-am division championship. His total of 215 was six shots better than Mike Barbosa and Dave Bunker, who tied for second place.
Jim Thomas won the senior division, finishing with a final-round 73, which gave him a one-shot win over Thomas Hyland and Stuart Sierra.
