PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2011) -- The NCGA Mixed Championship concluded at Poppy Hills with final-round action in three flights divided by handicap index. Two-person teams consisting of a man and woman competed in a modified alternate-shot format.
In the low-handicapper president’s flight, former NCGA Senior Player of the Year Rob Thompson and daughter Kim held onto their first round lead, running away to a five-stroke win after posting a 17-under net 127 two-round total. Jim and Jane Findarle were second while Jim and Terry Knoll (Jim is the current NCGA Senior Player of the Year) and Mark and Linda Klemczak tied for third. The Klemczaks won the Director’s Flight in 2010.

Koski and Hollman carded a 17under net 127. Sarah Kayson and Patrick Carroll finished third, six back of champions.
George and Lareine Smith captured the secretary’s flight, after carding a 14-under net 130, holding onto their first round lead. There was a tie for second place at 132 between the Mark Hawley/Susan Schultz and Glen Esquivel/Cynthia Hunt duos. The Hawley/Schultz team earned runner-up honors after a cardoff.
